is it wrong for a fan to fav an artist work and learning from the artwork the ability to draw and creat his/her own characters?

i have been doing that since childhood. my mentors are the artist from marvel enterprise. ever since the re-run of the X-MEN animation in the 1990s i have had the dream of becoming a marvel comic artist but my skills are still not developed yet. been referring to artwork from Jim lee, barry winsor smith and recently delgado and humberto ramos. but i feel like im stealing from them . i that weird? drawing is my comfort place where i can escape the real world but it seems to be filled by others work of beauty and few of my personal touch. i dont know. i guess my dreams of working not for but with marvel enterprise is growing into an unrealistic one. i love wolverine and i wish i had the crazy skills that the artist of marvel in my previous life.
